PONSONBY MURDER CASE.
A full meeting of Cabinet held at Wellington yesterday had before it the case of Dennis Dunn, convicted of the murder of Augustus Braithwaite at Ponsonby. No announcement can be made, as the question has yet to go before His Excellency the Governor-General at a meeting of the Executive Council. This will probably take place tomorrow. Whether the death sentence shall be carried out or commuted to imprisonment for life must be decided by the Governor-General acting on the advice of his Ministers.
