HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
A well-attended committee meeting of the above Society was held in “The Herald”’ oflico last night. The president, Mr W. Kenton, occupied the chair, !l was unanimously decided to ciilcr!ajn the late secretary, Mr H. ('. Patterson, and Mrs Patterson, at a social gathering to mark ilie Society’s appreciation of their excellent: services. A suh-
committee was set up to carry out the details. The Chairman said that a) the annual meeting the Society was faced with, the difficulty of finding a new secretary. .Mr H. H. Daniel! had been approached, and had consented to lake up the duties. He fell sure Mr Daniel! was the right man in the right place, andihe Society was to be congratulated upon having secured his services. On helm If of the Society the Chairman welcomed Mr and Mrs Daniel!.- The schedules were then dealt with for the forthcoming shows. , .
