ST. MARY’S SALE OF WORK.
The Hale of Work in aid of Ihe Convent, and school which is to he held on Thursday and Friday, Ihe 17th and LSlh insls, promises lo he the success that has been o»oked forward lo by all interesled in Ihe work. The opening, by Rev. Father Forrest al, P.P., will Like place at: 3 o'clock j).in. (Thursday). Besides ihe iish-pond, where iishes such as were never secured a( Foxiou beach, are lo he hooked on by Miss M. O’Donnell and Miss Aileen Bowe, there are Die Plain and Fancy Slabs, presided over by Mrs Hynes and Mrs Wrighi, Mrs O’Donoghue and Miss Smith, respectively, a Lollie Stall where under Mrs Desmond’s supervision the school girls hope to he kept as busy as bees; a Produce Stall, in the hands of the school hoys; last, hut by no means least, is the all-important Refreshment Stall, of which Miss Bonlield has the charge, and where a dainty supper —still more daintily served —may he procured. On Thursday evening selections will he rendered by Miss l.’pton, a leading Welling!on mezzo-soprano. .During Ihe Sale a varied musical programme will he gone through by the pupils of the Convent, and other local talent. The Sale will he open from 3 lo 4.30 p.m. each day, and in the evening from 8 o’clock. No charge for admission in the afternoon. In the evening, adults (Id, children 3d.
On Friday evening raffles, by permission of the Minister of internal Affairs, will lie drawn.
