FOOTBALL.
At a meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Hubby Union this week, the application of AY. U. Healey (Horowhenua Union) for removal of his suspension was considered. It was pointed out that the player in question had undergone suspension for eight years, and it was considered that he had been sufficiently punished, and the disqualification was removed. It is probable that'the junior rep. •match, Horowhenua v. Kangilikci, will be postponed till the 26th. This should give the selectors ample time to do their work, as the junior talent is very strong this season, and all claims for rep, honours should be carefully considered. The Horowhenua Union is endeavouring to secure a match with the Wellington reps, this season. This is a good move, and perhaps a junior game can be arranged as well. At the last meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union grants for the encouragement of school football were made to a number of unions. Apparently no grant was made to the Horowhenua Union in this connection. We do not know why, hut the llorowhenna I nion should immediately get in touch with the head body and see if a grant cannot be obtained.
