LOSS OF THE AORERE.
CAPTAIN'S CERTIFICATE RETURNED. Wanganui, Yesterday. The Court of Inquiry into the* loss of the steamer Aorere found three causes lor (.lie disaster viz., the vessel getting into a leaking condition and work in s loose in heavy weather, the pump not being properly tilled, and that the captain commit led an error of judgment in not. seeking shelter either at Kapiti or Queen Charlotte Sound. Other than this error, there was no negligence or incompetence on the part of Captain Crolty, whose certificate was returned. No order was made as to costs.
