FIRE BRIGADE BALL.
Last Thursday night a plain and fancy dress ball, in aid of the local lire brigade funds was held in the Town Hall. The function was a decided success, socially and Hnancially. The hall was prettily decorated with varied greenery and Hags, and the floor was very good. The music and supper were also all (hat; could be desired. There were a good many novel and attractive fancy costumes •worn, - which added to the enjoyment of the evening. •Much credit is due to the Ball Committee for the very able,manner in which the affair was organised and carried out.
The statement of receipts and expenditure is as follows; —
Proceeds of sale of tickets by Committee, £33 9s od. Expenditure: Rent of Town Hall £4, three musicians £4 IDs, catering £l3 Is, [minting a.ud advertising £3 Ills, Balance, net profit, £8 Bs.
