VACANCY FILLED. The Prime Minister made Lis announcement yesterday as to the appointment of a new Minister of the Crown. The choice has fallen on Mr G. J. Anderson, the member for Mataura. Mr Anderson will be Minister for Internal Affairs. The re-arrangement of portfolios is as follows; — Hon. W. F. Massey —Railways and Finance. Hon. W.TL Herrics —Native Affairs, Marine, and Customs. Hon. Sir Francis Bell—-Attorney-General and Leader of the Legislative Council. ■ , Hon. D. H. Guthrie —Lands and Soldiers’ Land Settlement. Hon. W. Nos worth;, —Agriculture and Immigration. Hon, J. G. Coates—Public Works dnd Postmaster-General. Hon. E. P. Lee —-Justice and Exter-

nal Affairs. Hon. C. J. Parr—Education and Public Health. Hon. G.-J. Anderson —Internal Affairs. Hon. Dr. Pomare —Native member of the Executive. Mr Massey pointed out that this list includes only Die nine departments. The portfolio of Defence is only temporarily held by Mr Coates at present, but there will be a definite allocation before the House sits, and there may be one or two other adjustments. He would not say that another Minister would not be-ap-pointed later. He considered the Cabinet a good one. Every member of it was keen to make his department a success.
