‘‘The Dawn of Understanding,” to be screened to-night, is adapted from one of Bret Harte’s most popular stories, and forms the first production in which Bessie Love is starred by Vitagraph Company. The delightful prairie romance is ideally suited to the little actress, and as Sue, the loneliest and most pathetic figure on the plains, she is convincing ai\d real.- Doomed to drudge and die unloved and unlovely, romance smiles upon her and gives .her a glimpse of. what love means. Pathos and humour are intertwined in the unfolding of this charming little story of real people of the West when it was young, and it promises rare entertainment to all who-witness it. To-morrow and Thursday night the chief attraction is Florence Reed in “Her Own Way.” Florence Reed is acknowledged as one of the finest emotional actresses on the screen to-day, and in the Metro feature, “Her Own Way,” she has ample opportunity of proving her ability in this direction. The supporting items include a splendid number of the Weekly Review, a breezy comedy, “Their Breezy Affair.” and others.
