BOWLING.
A loiim from the Manawatu Club, comprising’ Junes, Spooner, tastier and Brackenridge (s) played the holders'of the Dixon. Cup—Seifert. Welch, J. Nash and X. Xasli (s), of the Palmerston Club —on Saturday a flornoon. The Palmerston men were in good form, and Alien the ninth head had been played led by 15 to 1. On the 12th head the game
stood: Palmerston 18, Manawatu 5. The latter scored three in the next end, and had a fine streak of luck on the 11th. Palmerston were lying six, when Braekenridge, with his last shot, struck an outside bowl.(about, seven feet from the jack), and his timber ran across to the kitty, giving him the shot. The game was continued despite the fact that dusk had set in. Manawatu scored 4 and 2 on the 17th and ,18th head, and Palmerston 2 on the 19th, when play ceased, as it was then impossible to see the jack or bowls when delivering shots.
