In a letter to the Marlon Borough Council, the Under-Secretary of Public Works says; —-“I have 1 lo slate that it is not intended to allocate the available power from .Mangahao at present. It is proposed to run a line to Wanganui as early as may be possible, but pending reinforcement from another source, there will be in-uifficieiit power at Mangahao lo supply the whole district from Wanganui to Wellington. If your Council considers that it is likely to obtain power earlier from any other source the ■Department will raise no objection lo its proceeding accordingly. ’, It was decided lo ask Wanganui to reserve a supply for Marlon when the proposed new works are undertaken I here.
