SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
When the newly-elected School Committee met on Monday night, after the householders' meeting,.it was decided, as there were only six present, to acljourn the meet inf’ 1 until lust night, in order to secure a full attendance. Each member was duly notified, and the following were present tMessrs Claris, Hornblow, W. Petrie, Perreau and J. Ross. An apology, owing to indisposition, was received on behalf of Mr C. Coley, and Mr Alexander was out of the district. When it was proposed to go on with tlje business, Mr Perreau objected, owing to the others not 'being in attendance, and .said lie would withdraw, thus leaving the meeting wjthout a quorum. Mr Perreau offered to go in search of the elusive committeemen, but as lie did not return after luilf-an-hour's wait, it was decided to further adjourn the meeting until Monday evening, at 7 o'clock. At present the Committee m without a Chairman or Secretary (Mr Claris acting in the latter case meanwhile). It is therefore hoped that committeemen will make a point of attemhing on Monday', as there is much important work ahead. . -.
