THE PRINCE’S VISIT.
CATERING A RRANG EM ENTS FOR THE CHILDREN.
Children from outlying schools visiting Palmerston North on the day of the Prince’s visit are to he supplied with a mid-day meal, consisting of cakes, buns, and sandwiches, at the Agricultural Hall, in the Show-grounds. This decision was arrived at by the reception commit tee at a meeting held on Monday afternoon, and which was presided over hv Cr. E. H. Crahh.
The meal will lie supplied free of charge, and il is requested that (he children will assemble at Hie Showgrounds not later than 11.40 a.m. it was decided to issue tea in preference to a cold drink, and for ibis reason Hie children are asked to bring a mug each. Afterwards they will he marched under their respective teachers to (he positions assigned, and will remain in the charge of the teachers until sent homewards.
Local caterers are to be given the task of supplying the huge amount of comestibles necessary'. ■ It is estimated that 2,500 children will have to he fed.
