WEDDING.

SAYER—HUGHES. A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the local Presbyterian ' Church yesterday, at 11.30 a .in., by the Rev. Thus. Halliday, when Mr Reginald Hugh Saver, of Lyall Bay, "Wellington, was united to Ruby, sixth daughter of Mr and. Mrs (1. Hughes, well-known and highly-re-spected settlers of No. 2 Line, Foxton. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a tail-or-made travelling costume of navy serge, white velvet hat, and carried ‘ a bridal bouquet, of cosmos and dahlias. Miss Doris Hughes, youngest sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and was attired in a green cloth cost time, with black bat, and carried a bouquet of■ chrysanthemums, hibiscus, and autumn leaves. Mr Norman Hughes, cousin of the bride, officiated as groomsman. The service was choral, Mrs Clans presiding at the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held in Walls’ • lea-rooms, where the usual toasts were honoured and felicitous speeches made. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a set of black fox furs, and to the bridesmaid a set. of silver and ebony toilet articles. The bride’s gift to the bridegroom was a gold ring. Mr and Mrs Savor left by the afternoon train for Wellington, bearing with them the best wishes of a large circle of friends,
