Manawatu Herald TUESDAY, APRIL 20, 1920. SCHOOL ELECTIONS.

AX amendment is needed in the Education Act governing School Committee elections in respect to the closing of nominations. Nominations should close at least seven days before election, in order that the public may carefully weigh the merits of those seeking election, and to allow lime for the printing of ballot papers, and thus avoid the present primilive method of recording the votes. The same method which applies in urban elections should be extended to suburban areas. We hope the School Committees’ Association will direct attention to this matter.
