FOXTON FIRE BRIGADE.

A general meeting of the above was held in the Red Shield Club on Tuesday night. Mr Frankland was appointed secretary pro. tern., in the absence of Mr S. Compton, secretary. It was resolved to send a letter of sympathy to .Mr O'Brien (en-gineer-custodian) in his unfortunate accident, and wishing him a speedy recovery. It was resolved to ask the Council to purchase a doublecylinder chemical engine under offer. .It was resolved that the site for the engine house be either th.e tirebel! site or in Main Street, and that the Council he asked to supply (he Brigade with a complete wrecking plant. Also that the Council he asked not to purchase anything for the Brigade without first consulting the Brigade. The meeting then discussed matters to be brought up in conferencc with the Council, and the meeting adjourned.
