SALE OF WORK.
The Sale of Work arid Produce in connection with the local Methodist Harvest Thanksgiving was held in the 'Masonic Hall yesterday afternoon and evening. Messrs Wainwright and K. Westwood had charge of the produce stall; the Guild stall, containing useful articles in needlework, was in charge ■of Misses Henry and Signal/. Mrs Signal had charge of the pot plants, a fine display; Misses F. Chalk and N, Scadden were in charge of the Young People's Guild stall, while Airs Harding, assisted by Mrs Oxley, had 1 charge of the art stall. -VI! the articles on this stall were tin; work and gifts of Mrs Harding, and included art needlework, and poker painting in beautiful designs'on velvet. The afternoon tea arrangements were in the I lands of Mesdames L. Dullard, Parkin, and Miss Walker, assisted l»y Misses Parkin, Evans, Andrews, Lacey and Robinson. A number <d’ young ladies, together with Messi's Dullard (12) and (lie Rev. Harding, rendered valuable assistance. There was a good attendance during the evening, and business was brisk throughout. The Army Dand played a number ,of selections outside the hall; During the evening a pianoforte selection was played by Miss Evans, and Miss. Bryant rendered a solo. Owing to the rush of business, it wns decided to abandon ihe musical programme. The nail-driving competition was won by MBs Henry, and (he number competition by All's Westwood. Tin* affair was a great success from every point of view, and those responsible desire lo (bank all who in anv wav assisted to this end.
