Carpentier, the famous French boxer, who recently married Milo. A small Jersey cow caused considerable amusement in Courtenay Street, New Plymouth, the other day. The animal was being driven by two boys on horseback, and entered a garden gate at the corner of Hobson Street. A passer-by offered to drive it out, but by the lime he had entered the garden the cow had-gone into the house and penetrated into the diningroom, causing no little surprise. Driven out, the cow -walked round the garden, and when passing the front door again could not resist another peep into the house. One of the largest strikes that the world has ever known occurred in Egypt during the reign of Cheops, several thousand years before the Christian era.
