The artists declare that this war against monuments is childish, and that public money ought to he expended for the encouragement of art. .Marshal Foeh received recently what many Parisians say was probably the greatest ovation of his life. The marshal was buying presents in one of the shops in the Boulevards when an immense crowd collected outride. A collection was made, and a representative of the crowd went into a shop and bought a beautiful bronze statue, which he presented to Marshal Foeh on behalf ot those outside.
