The Dog Legistrar (James M.cKnigbt) proceeded against Arthur See for uslii”' a registration c.ollar on a dog other than the one to which ihe collar belonged. The Dog Regtstrar staled that defendant’s dog was j'otmd with, a collar on (hat belonged to a, dog owned hy another person. Defendant's wife, in evidence, staled that she picked up the collar in question near .Vlotuili. Her husband's doys were all registered in the Manawalu County. As one of the registration collars had been left, cut on the run, the collar which had been inched up was used in order to lie the doc- up, and was left on the dog next day, when the Inspector saw it.

Ernest Howan slated that he owned the dog, and had registered it with MeKnight .last year. lie was now resident in the Manawalu County, and had since registered the dog there. Before doing so lie had tillered to register same with McKnight, hm he iiad refused to take the fee offered, ,2s Gd, for a working dog, claiming that the animal was not a working dog, and that the fee was therefore ten shillings. He only left the dog at defendant's place when he was not using it. The Magistrate said that the Dog .Registration Act provided that dogs must he registered in the district in which they were kept, and as this dog has been kepi in the Foxlon Borough it must lie registered with that body. Defendant was ordered to pay the registration fee of 10s, and costs 7s.
