FLAX AGREEMENT.
In the industrial agreement made between the New Zealand Flaxmilllers’ Association and ibe Manawatu Plaxmills’ Employees Industrial Union of Workers on March Ist, ilm following conditions of rates of pay. etc*., were agreed to: —Day work, 15s (id per day; feeders, 2s .per hour; stripper-keeper,' 2> (id per day extra; horse drivers. i*-| 1 Is per week; automatic scutchers, las and 18s per (on for one and two stripper mills respectively; hand scutchers, 31s (id per Ion; paddocking, with' carting, 33s per (on summer, and 3(is winter; paddoeking, wilhout carting, 24s summer, and 27s winter; compulsory stacking, 2s 9d per ton for compulsory stacking of fibre fo be added to paddoeking rale; liaxeul 1 big, (id per lon increase on all blocks at present being cut only, minimum 8s per (on; (ramming, 3d per (on increase where old rale lias not been restored. The rale to be charged for board to lw 24s per week. This agreement may he terminated by 39 days’ notice by cither side, ;m(1 a conference oi both parlies to he called immediately to deal with auv issue that may be involved.
