ROYAL PICTURES.
A story of mystery and romance will be presented at the Royal Theatre to-night, in “A mance, , ’ second of the new Anita. Stewart super-productions. The extremes of entertainment are accomplished in the opening scenes of a boat of refugees from a foundered liner being landed on the American shore, and in the closing scenes of a. grand ball and reception in honour of one of (he refugees, who, throughout the production, is known as Marie, a hotel maid. The story concerns her experiences as a servant employed by the Sea. A r ie\v Hotel. Another episode of “Stingaree” will be shown us an extra. The most natural and human part sfie has ever portrayed is that played by Louise Glaum in her latest Paralta drama, “Shackled,” to be screened on Monday night. Sincerity and depth of feeling mark her every movement throughout the piny. The “never-die” spirit Unit prompts the strong of heart to seek redemption and demand respect when victorious is embodied in her acting from first to last. No more :i vampire, Louise Glaum will do belter work and go further, especially if the vehicles she has are of the merit of “Shackled.” A strong and pithy story, a more than excellent caste; and tin .actress whoso forte is emotional parts, create a combination that is hard to heat, and this is the strength of “Shackled.”
