SCHOOL REPORTS.
AT last School Committee meeting Mr Hornblow asked whether the In■fpeetors annual report had been presented to the Committee, The head teacher pointed out that % the
report Intel been received, and was open for inspection -by Hie Commit teemen if they desired to see it. A circular instruction from the Chief Inspector provides that reports are not to he submitted ht Committee meetings for discussion, but are open for private inspection by committeemen. We are not at present concerned with the necessity or otherwise , of an annual report from the inspectors of a general nature, as touching the school, but to remove any impression which may be in the minds of any of the public that something is being withheld, which may reflect upon the head teacher. Whatever criticism we have indulged in in connection with school affairs, we have at no time' depreciated the work of the head teacher, and writing ds a com-P mil teemnn, and with an inner knowledge of the reports, we are at liberty to say that the reports are of a highly creditable nature to the head teacher and iiis staff, under very trying conditions.
