SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the School Committee was held last night. Present: Messrs Kellow (chairman), Hornblow, Parkin, Alexander, Permiu, Claris, P. Kobinson, G. Coley, McMurray. The head teacher was also in attendance. Routine business was discussed. The head teacher said he had visited Wanganui aridmade certain purchases for school furniture. He had also asked parents of deceased ex-scholars of the schoolAo forward enlarged photos of 1 heir sons, to be hung- in the vistibule beside the Honours Board. The question of enlarging the girls’ playground by taking in a vacant section behind the old cemetery was discussed, but no action was taken. It was reported' that an estimate and plans for septic tank, etc., had been forwarded to the Department for approval and grant. ’ Messrs Coley and Alexander w ere appointed visitors for the month.
