A combination that is rarely seen i-n the screen is manifested in a. first Xational feature-drama, “On Trial,'’ to be screened 10-night. It has 'a worthy plot, -by a master writer, proven by the tremendous success it achieved on the stage. It lias a caste of proven ability in, Barbara Gastlelon, Sydney Ainsworth, and Mary McAlister, and it has faultless direction as well. It is a, marvel of suspense and dramatic achievement, and its seven acts pass seemingly in a Hash. As an extra, to the usual programme, .another episode of the popular seri-. a 1,-“Further Adventures of Stingaree,” will ||| shown. On Monday and Tuesday night an excellent progremme will be screened. “The Hail of Spears,” the marvellous Eastern scene in Norma T,almadge’s greatest play, “The Forbidden City,” is a miracle of beauty and faithfulness to Eastern tradition. It also shows the subtle' treachery which is part of the Chinese character in certain of its phases. As an extra to this programme will bo shown a further episode of “The E'ighting Trail.”
