VALEDICTORY.
Air and Airs James .Hurley, who are leaving Foxton to take up their residence in Wellington were ’tendered a farewell social by life congregation of Gt. Alary’s Church in the Catholic schoolroom on Thursday night. There was a largo attendance, the Dev. Falher'Forrest!!! presiding. During the evening the, Chairman made a presentation to the guests, Air Hurley being presented with a silver tobacco box and pipe, and. Airs Hurley a silver tray and Fruit bowl. In making Hie presentation the Chairman referred to the interest taken by Ah* and Airs Hurley in church and other affairs, and also to Air Hurley's long residence in the town, extending over a period of 30 years. Mr Hurley feelingly responded. During the evening progressive euchre was played, at ihe conclusion of which a tasty supper was served by tho ladies of the parish; Air and Airs Hurley Dave Fox(pn on .
