(From “The M'amnvatu Herald,’’ February 13th, 1880.) Rainfall. —We' have to thank Mr J. T. Stewart for'the following statistics regarding the rainfall at Foxton during the last six years:— 1874, 30.8(5 inches; 1875, 48.29 ches; 1870, 30.05 inches; 1877, 39.74 inches; 1878, 39.09 inches; 1879, 39.00 inches. The rainfall for December, 1879, was 5.10 inches, and for January, 1880, 1.04 inches.
