AIDS TO BEAUTY.
Sometimes drugs arc recommended as aids to beauty, but unless they are prescribed by a doctor it is best to leave them severely alone. There are many simple and harmless preparations that may effectively replace the use of belladonna for the eyes, or arsenic for I lie complexion. For example, if the eyes are bathed in boracie lotion they will be refreshed and look much, brighter. To make the lofTon, one ounce of boraeic acid in poAvdor must be dissolved in one and a-halt, pints of hot water. It is best to make this lotion in a bottle, so that it can he Aveli shaken. It must not be used until the powder is dissolved. Many girls who have bad complexions Avould' in numerous cases have saved their looks had they taken better cafe of their digestion, as a weak digestion is more, often .than not the cause of a sallow complexion. There is, however, an old-Avorld remedy any modem girl can use, and it is just as effective now as it was in the days of “powder and patches.”
