ROYAL PICTURES.
Unusual interest attaches to the screening at the Royal to-night, of (he latest E. J. Carroll attraction, “The Lure of the. Bush,” featuring Snowy Baker and Rita Tress. This picture has had the unusual advantage of having been edited and assembled in an American studio during Mr Baker’s recent visit to the United States, and therefore marks a new epoch in Australian picture production. The picture is of such a high standard, and the work of the actors in many thrilling stunts so remarkable that the redoubtable Bill Hart, who witnessed a screening of it in California, wrote a special article in the “Photoplay Magazine” concerning it and Snowy Baker’s extraordinary ability as an athletic ■* actor. A cast of unusual excellence supports the star, and the story' is by Jack Forth, a well-known Australian writer, and the scenes ore laid in the real outback- of New South Wales, amid glorious .bush sellings. The programme for Monday includes a Triangle-Fine. Arts drama, “The Devil's Needle,” starring Norma Talmadge, and is built on a oaring theme in the use and efiects of drugs on a man and a girl. The picture by its very forcefulness points a strong moral, and while being unsuitable tor exhibition to children, is a damning indictment of an existent 'evil. Another episode of the serial, “The Fighting Trail,” will also be shown. For Chronic Chest Complaints, Woods’ Great Peppermint Cure.
