Forty rinks took part in Use V\ anganui Bowling Centre’s jinmutl tournament, which eommeneed on Boxing Day, and will he completed today. Except for rain late on Friday afternoon, which stopped proha hly (wo hours play, the weather was ideal, and tin? greens played particularly well. Foxtou was represented at the tuujnament by one rink, Roore, Barr, Nye, F. Whihley (s). and (heir record was two wins and five losses. The following are the particulars of the games in which the Foxton rink took part, Fuxion’s score being mentioned first 'in each instance: — Bray, Kiimmer, Wilson, Maxwell Walker (s) (Ponsonhy), 13—22. McKee, Bonnor, Bragg, Flower (s) (Gonville), .17 —19. MoNivcn, Addonhroke, Bales, Rankin (s') (Wanganui), 22 —14. Haworth, Wall, Foster, Jones (s) (Wanganui), 21 —22. Aliowos, R. Armstrong, Laird, J. D. Armstrong (s) (St. dolors), 24 Henry, MeLaggan, Morion, Spurd!e (s) (Inglewood), IS —21.
A pairtjffikrnamcnl was.ployed on the local Christmas Day, eight pairs taking paid. Three rounds were played, the competition being decided on tire aggregate score. The following were Hie scores: —Roore and Huntley 77, D. Whihley and Barr 55, Stevenson and E. Walker 49, Parkin and MeColl 48, Fogden and Christie 41, Spring and Bryant 37, Ross and Henderson 30, McK’nighl: and Heasman 25, The following are in the semifinals, which will ho played to-day: —Benefield (St. John’s), London (Wanganui), each 7 wins and no losses; McNeill (Fitzroy), Beale (West End), Walker (Ponsonhy), and Green (St. John’s), each 0 wins and one loss. Another match for the Nye Fernwas played on Saturday, when the holders again successfully defended their right to hold Hie trophies.
