CONTINUANCE STILL LEADING.
MAJORITY 1040. The Him! figures for New Zealand for the licensing poll, exclusive of absent voters, show that prohibition is 1301 votes short of an absolute majority of the votes polled. Yesterday afternoon news came to hand that the voting of the soldiers in England had resulted as follows : '■■Continuance 142 State Control 230 Prohibition 33 These figures are not. official, hut there-is every reason to believe Unit they are correct. This brings the majority against prohibition up to 1040, The official New Zealand figures are: — Continuance 23,1,258 . .
