CONVENT CONCERT.
“Bigger, brighter’ and heller! was (he verdict of (hose who attended the St. Mary's Convent School annual concert held in the Town Hall on Tuesday night. Despite the runnier attractions, the hall was tilled with an appreciative audience, and the performers acquitted themselves admirably, and those re-
sponsible for their training are deserving of great praise. r Jhe stage was tastefully decorated by the sisters, and a willing hand of helpers and the coloured lights were manipulated by Mr .MeKnight. Kittle Tat Hvnes’s recitation. “A Dirty Face/' fairly brought down the house, and was a splendid pertormanee for one of only tour summers. One little lot. Maggie Desmond, found the ordeal of facing siieh a largo audience a little too trying, and gamely tried to “see it thruugh,” The little “grandmothers” was perhaps the star item of the evening, the make-up and antics causing roars of laughter. Ibe “Cinderella” ; l n m was very good, the "Prince” and the "two sisters ’ and the dancing called forth loud applause. The pianoforte dust b\ Carla Knndqnist and Kitty Williams was a splendid interpretation. Space forbids a more lengthy report, but the promoters are to be eongratuInted upon a very successful concert. Orchestra (selected), Ist violins Andrew Reed, Seymour Small, Maggie Hynes, 2nd violins, Redwood Bowe and Gordon Perreau, mandolins Carla Lundquist and Ynes.
