Manawatu Herald TUESDAY, DECEMBER 16, 1919. TO-MORROW'S ROLL.
TO-MORROW tlu* i*lectors of Maim wain will be afforded an opportunity of voting' for a representative of the Reform Parly or the chosen of (he Labour Parly. Both candidates have set forth in detail the platforms which thoy represent, and the faith that is within them, and have done so without personal bitterness, B is unnecessary for us to recapitulate the party issues, for we believe every voter has made up his or her mind on the point. If there are any wavering Liberals, then we would remind them that Sir Joseph Ward and his Parly leaders has made it quite clear that Liberalism does not desire to win to oliiee with (he assistance of (he extreme Labour Parly. The lines are clear cut between Liberalism and extreme Labour. The work of reconstruction before Parliament demands that the best men should be returned, and in Mr Newman we have a man of Parliamentary experience, and who we honestly believe to have the welfare of all classes of the people at heart. Mr Hillier is an untried man, but that is no detriment, lie is a man of 'the people, and is 'in close touch with I lie struggles and hardships of the workers. The Liberal vole will decide Iho issue, and if this goes to Mr Newman he will win.
