THE GAS WORKS.

NOVEMBER WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured at the local works during the month of November was 438,200 ft., which, with the amount in holder on November Ist, 17,000 ft., made a total of 455,200 ft. The amount sold'to consumers for lighting was 160,800 ft., for cooking and heating 154,900 ft., and for power 76,309 ft., 23,000 ft. was used at the works and manager’s house, and there was 17,000 ft. in the holder on December Ist, leaving 23,200 ft., representing five per cent, of the output, unaccounted for. Forty-one tons of coal was carbonised, yielding 10,680 ft. per ton, MANAGER’S REPORT. The manager reported as follows; —The amount of gas manufactured during November shows a slight increase as compared with the corresponding month of last year, 1 expect to get the small holder tarred this month, providing the weather improves. lam still getting a number of meters not registering. The carbonising plant is working satisfactorily.
