ROYAL PICTURES.

The programme screened at the Koval last night will be repeated tonight. To-morrow and Thursday night, “Tempered Steel” an Olga Petrova feature, will be screened. This play is by the well-known author, George Middleton, and one can detect his constructive skill in the manner he has developed his plot. Mr Middle/ ton’s story with its murder, its series of intense scenes when the heroine scores a .success in her play, the while the dead face on the door is haunting her, and the subsequent high-keyed action,, with the sterling climax revealing the fact that the death was caused by lightning, and not by human hand, is one which should find ready response and approval in all varieties of houses.

There will also be shown the fifth episode of the great serial, “The Railroad Raiders,” entitled “A Woman's Wit,” in which ..a successful attempt is made to steal money from the paymaster of a construction gang. Helen, seeing what happened, jumps on an inspection car, beats the engine on which the thieves are riding to the switch and turns it off the main track, enabling the train on which her employer and others are coming to arrive to get the thieves.

Monday next: “Mickey.” Don’t miss it.
