(From “Tlio Manawatn Herald,” November 2Sth, 1ST!).) Mayoralty Election. —The election for the office of Mayor of the Borough of Palmerston took place n Wednesday last. There were two eandidates who aspired to he tiie “people’s chosen” for the office, viz., Messrs Linton and Coleman. The poll was declared as follows hy the Returning Officer, Mr R. N. Keeling:—Linton 83, Coleman 12. Ring the Bell. —We are pleased to learn that with an eye to the promotion of the interests of his school,. Mr Hnlke has secured the hell of the City of Auckland, which we hope shortly to hear ringing the youngsters to school. ■
