A Friend 10 10 0 Edward Newman, M.P. 5 5 0 John Chrystall 5 5 0 The following circular has been posted to citizens in connection with the above: —Dear Sir. —At a public meeting convened by the Mayor, and held in the Borough Council Chamber on the 4th inst., it was unanimously decided to erect a titling memorial in the Triangle Reserve, at the north end of Main Street, to the memory of local and district soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War. A representative Committee was set up to carry out the details. The estimated cost is limited to £SOO. It was decided to appeal to a generous public for the amount required, and as this, will probably be the last appeal made for patriotic purposes the Committee feels confident that the response will he generous. On behalf of the Honoured Dead we make this appeal for your kind and practical sympathy. Will you please fill in the accompanying form, setting forth the amount you feel disposed to contribute, and return same to either of the undersigned. —Yours, etc., John Chrystall, Mayor; J. K.
