FIRE AT THE SEASIDE.
A dwelling at the seaside, owned by Mr W. Devine, of Palmerston N., and- occupied by Mr and Mrs W. Adams, was totally destroyed by fire, together with the contents, yesterday afternoon. It appears that some tar which was being heated on the stove ignited, and Die burning liquid set tire to the building. The flames, fanned by the breeze, 'quickly demolished the house before any of the effects could be removed. Mrs Adams received several burns about Die arms, and was prostrated by the shock. The adjoining house, occupied by Mr and Mrs C. C. Baguall, had a narrow escape, and was only saved by the strenuous efforts of a party of helpers....
