Yesterday afternoon a rink from the local club visited Levin and played the holders of the Awahou Feathers. The game was a very interesting one, the result being in doubt right up to the-last head... On the twelfth head the score stood: Levin 18, Foxton 17, and in this LeVin scored one with a toucher in the ditch, and they also added three on the last head, which the visiting skip unsuccessfully attempted to kill. The Foxton players were very hospitably entertained. The following are the teams and scores: — Williams • Roore Yuile Freeman Broughton Raine Bull (s) 22 F. Whibley (s) 17Kccn interest is being taken this year in the Nye Ferns competition, another-match being played yesterday afternoon, the holders again successfully, defending their right to possession of the trophies. In the first eight heads the scoring was close, the total being eight—seven in favour of the holders. On the next head, however, the holders put on a seven, and from this stage om the result was never in doubt. In the holders’ team Woods ..took the place of Roore. The team and scores were as follows: — Bryant Henderson Woods' Walker Christie Hawke Mandl (s) 28 Crawley (s) 20 The first match in the annual tri.angular contest between the Shannon, Poxton and Levin Clubs will be played at Levin next M ednesday, when two rinks each from Shannon and Poxton will play four rinks from the Levin Club.
