MANAWATU SHOW.

Heavy rain and south-easterly winds made the conditions very unpleasant for the opening day of the Palmerston North Spring Show yesterday. The entries this year constitute a record, and total 4,102, as against 3,201 last year. The most notable increases are: Competitions from 132 to 218, horses 190 to 239, photography 07 to 178.
