A NARROW ESCAPE,

Auckland, Yesterday

The open boat Reore ca pi zed in a squall off Watchman Island on Sunday, and lay awash with four occupants clinging to the gumvhale until rescued by another craft. One of the rescued, was exhausted. The finding of the yacht later with sails set gave rise to a rumour that several lives had been lost, which proved incorrect.
