ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Oamaru, Oft. 30, The body of A. 6. Clarke, a returned soldier, and secretary of the local Repatriation Committee, who disappeared mysteriously 18 days ago, leaving his coat on the breakwater, was found this morning in the harbour. At the inquest the jury returned a -verdict that deceased met his death by drowning himself in the Oamaru harbour while in a stats of unsound mind. It added a rider that the attention of the Government bo called to the frequency of cases of mental distress among returned soldiers followed by tragedies, which are occurring in various parts of the Dominion. The jury begs respectfully that more sympathetic attention be given those eases, and that a ■■■. special institution be equipped to deal with them.
