CROQUET.
Six local players journeyed to Levin yesterday afternoon to take . part in the.opening of the hnrti |hero. There was a large attend- ' mice, and (ho weather conditions & were good, and a most enjoyable time was spent, tUo visitors being very hospitably - entertained. A twenty-minutes tournament was /*. played, and was won by Mesdames Perrcau (Fox ton) and ■■Nicholson, (Levin). There was a good muster of players on the local lawn yesterday afternoon. Very keen interest is being taken in the game locally‘this year, and it promises to be one of the most successful seasons in the history of the Club.
