BRIDGE AT LONGBURN.

Mr J. A. Nash (Palmerston N.) has asked in the House of Representatives whether the Minister for Public "Works will consider the question of granting a substantial subsidy towards the erection of a bridge over the Manawatu river at Longburn, the Public Works Department having the right to. carry its transmission lines connected with the Mangahao scheme over, the proposed bridge. Mr Nash added a note as follows-: The erection of this bridge would mean a level road between Palmerston North and Paekakariki, would shorten the distance and prove a boon to motorists and others betweciUTaranaki and Hawke’s Bay on the one side and Wellington uii the other, besides helping the farming community and others on the Manawatu line.
