FOXTON LADIES’ PATRIOTIC GUILD.
AN APPRECIATION
The secretary of the above Guild which was recently disbanded, has received the following communications re gift clothing, from the High Commissioner, London, under date July 28th:— “I now have the pleasure to inform you that the ease of gift clothing which your guild so kindly 'forwarded to my care for the war Refugees Committee came safely to hand. I found on enquiry, however, that owing to the return to their own country of the Belgians, the Committee had ceased its operations. I therefore passed on the clothing to the Soldiers and Sailors Families Association, London, who Avere delighted with the gift. I enclose letter of thanks from the Association, Avliich will doubtless ho of interest, to you.”
.From Edith J. Maude, hem. secretary of the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Families Association, London, under date July 25th: — “We have received a letter from the New Zealand Government Offices Stating that the High Commissioner is forwarding to us a case of children’s clothes made by yourselves. I cannot tell you how grateful wo are for these, as daily we got numbers of fresh applicants in distress, and we are so glad to have clothes that we can give them to help them along. We cannot bear having to send” them away without giving them the clothes they desire, and deserve, and you are therefore helping our work considerably by the gift of clothes.”
