TWO-UP SCHOOL.

CASES AT WANGANUI,

Wanganui, Oct. 20

The scrjuel to the rnid on the “two-up school” took .place in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when about forty men went ('barged with playing a game of chance in a public place. Practically all -pleaded guilty. Pines amounting to £2 were imposed in the majority of the cases, £1 on those who appeared, and £2 10s on those not appearing. In several cases two informations had been laid, wherein an extra 10s line was imposed. A young man previously convicted for a similar offence was lined £5. Two men who acted as ring masters on occasions when the police were watching, were each lined £lO.
