WEDDING.
A wedding was celebrated at Himatangi on Wednesday, when Gertrude Mary, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Alfred Gardner, was united to Mr It. L. King, of Utnwai (a re- # turned soldier).-The bride, who was given away by her father, was dressed in white crepe de cheno over white lace and pussy willow silk, and wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bridal bouquet. The bridesmaids were Misses Hettic and Edna Gardner, sisters of the bride, who were attired in white voile and white hats trimmed with pink roses, and carried bouquets of pink roses and maidenhair fern. Mr John Ridley, of Utuwai, also a returned soldier, acted as best man. The 'wedding was celebrated at the residence of the bride’s parents, where a reception was subsequently held, a large gathering of friends and relatives being present. The couple left by the afternoon train on their honeymoon. The presents were numerous and costly. The Rev. Mr Harding was Die officiating minister.
