Manawatu Herald,” Septeniher Kith, 1879.) Waugamii-Foxtou, Railway. —The receipts on the local line for the four weeks ending July 20th were as ■follows':- —Passengers £1,220 9s 4d*, goods and live stock, £1,201 17s lid: total, £2,422 7s 3d. There were 140 tons less of timber sent liking the line than during the same month of the previous year, whilst the firewood trade has increased by 788 tons. ‘We also notice that the returns show 324 tons of grain as having gone over the line, as against only 85 during the same month of last year. We are unable to state the receipts at the Foxton railway wharf, as the Government have ceased to publish them, the wharf revenue being treated simply as part of the receipts of the railway.
