IMPROVEMENTS FORECASTED. HOPES FOR NEXT MONDAY. Prospects of on improvement in the railway service in I lie very near future, possibly dating from next Monday, were held out hy the Prime Minister, in answering a question put to him in the House of Representatives on Thursday night by (he Hon. A. M. Myers. The General Manager had informed him that day, that had it not been tor the .falling-off in the local output, the country would very soon have been in its old position. “In the meantime, on. account of the outlook,’’ lie added, “wo have to go quietly, but all the lime the position is improving.’’ Already improvements had been made in the godds traffic, but next week, possibly on Monday, he hoped (o be able to make a very satisfactory improvement in the passenger service.
