A TRIBUTE TO SIR JAMES WILSON.
At Thursday’s meeting of the District Hospital Board, when the naming of the wards was under discussion, Mr Hornblow moved (hatone of the wards be named after the Chairman, Sir James Wilson. He said that Sir James had taken the initial steps in forming the hospital district, and had been closely associated with the Board since its inception, and Chairman for 21 years. Mr Hornblow paid a tribute to the Chairman’s enthusiasm and self-sacrificing work on behalf of the institution and suffering humanity. It was due to him that the Board should take this opportunity of perpetuating his long and faithful services to the hospital. The Chairman feelingly acknowledged the kind expressions, but said he would prefer that the honour should bo conferred upon some oho else.
The motion upon being put was curried’ unanimously, and with applause. It was proposed to name (he other ward alter Queen Mary, and the McHardie ward after the donor.
