EDUCATIONAL REFORMS.
GOVERNMENT URGED TO INCREASE VOTE. Wanganui, Aug. 8. At a meeting of teachers, school committeemen, and householders held to-night to discuss education matters, the speakers included Mr W. A. Veitch, M.P. The folknving resolution Avas carried: —“That this meeting urges the GoA’ernment to increase the education vote to at least three millions sterling, in order to make possible comprehensive reforms and so bring the New Zealand system into line Avith modern conditions.”
